I adore Cuenca but it was rather cold and I had ticked off my bucket list item of eating cuy in Ecuador.
I was really looking forward to meeting a few friends on the coast and basking in the warm sun of Canoa.
That hasnβt happened.
The friends are here but sunshine is not. It is really my fault.
Locals were right by recommending Canoa for a great beach but they also warned me it was rainy season in Ecuador.
It has been raining every single day. All day. Well thatβs not completely true, I did see a hazy sun for twenty minutes a few days ago.
Itβs been getting all of us down. Other than eating Ecuadorian ceviche and drinking we haven’t done much of anything.
Finally today I decided I had enough of whining about the rain in between Facebook sessions and so I packed up my camera and gave myself one rule:
No bitching about the weather.
I walked around town taking photos and talking to the locals about the weather. And I didn’t melt.
There was a steady drizzle as I walked through the streets and onto the beach but it was warm enough and while the sun never appeared somehow I had a good time.
I’ve decided that if it rains every day I’m still going out, even just to take my journal to a restaurant to write. I canβt hide inside because I don’t like the rain during rainy season.
Great pictures. Don’t be afraid of rain, i can assure that you are doing a great job when i see your pictures.
Regardless of rain it is always nice to be out and seeing the area for yourself,I for one dislike driving in rain but I don’t mind raindrops on my round face.
Great pictures by the way.
Good for you! I need to remind myself not to complain about the weather every chance I get, because there’s nothing I can do about it. π You’re still getting wonderful pictures though, they’re great!
If I used rain as an excuse to stay inside and not go anywhere, we would’ve never seen most of Switzerland and Rome on a recent trip. I don’t like rainy weather either, Ayngelina, but it’s all part of dealing with the unexpected. I love you pictures, too!
Love the first picture. Wish I was there, even in the rain.
Still looks lovely even in the rain!
OMG! That’s a beautiful picture–the first one! There’s beauty in rain!
I find I often blame weather for my lack of going out around HK lately– it’s either too rainy or too hot. Glad you could push yourself to get out though!
LOL, as a California gal I’m totally dependent on sunshine weather. But I secretly LOVE rainy days and rainy season as long as I have the appropriate clothing/gear (but talk to me after I’ve lived in the U.K. for at least a whole year or two…). Your photos are nonetheless gorgeous.
It is such a shame when it rains while you are by the seaside. I went to the Cambodian coast a few weeks ago and a typhoon hit the coast while I was there. We went out to bars and restaurants, as we didn’t want to spend all day in the hotel, but we got absolutely soaked doing so.
I love listening to a thunderstorm when i’m chilling in a hammock! Being from Ireland I learned to just get on with life, even when it rains!
Not a bad day considering that without the sun there was good lighting for photos and you didn’t have to think about sunblock or sunburn.
I love taking pictures rain or shine, the images are actually even and the saturation of the light is so smooth and even which is perfect for certain subjects like detailed shots.
This may be completely nerdy but I love the colour tones on these pics
Wow That’s a Beautiful Picture.I like this post.I love rainy season.
βFor after all, the best thing one can do when it is raining is let it rain.β (Henry Wadsworth Longfellow)
I also hate going outside during rainy season because I can stand the cold and also the heavy traffic. I just prefer to stay at home during that bad weather and let it pass.
Well, rain is not really a good weather when you have outdoor activity .
However, i like your pictures. π I feel like going there, after seeing them.
