Mazatlan, Mexico
In the historic end of Mazatlan there is quite a bit of graffiti although I prefer to call it street art because some of it is as beautiful as what you can see in the galleries.
I had a second look at one of the pieces because there was writing all around it. It turned out to be a piece of graffiti love, a couple were writing back and forth to each other – sometimes blissful and something with so much melancholy.

Do you want to be my girlfriend?
13/10/2011 7:15pm
Yes sir, because I love you and miss you. You feel so far away from me and I miss you.
13/10/2011 7:18pm
Wait for me to bring you back here with me.

And also with the eyes I used to see you. I find you beautiful my little girl. I love you. For me you are gorgeous and everything. Kiss. I love you.

I, Maria, I promise to love you and adore you for all my life, my little boy.

Well I am grumpy and difficult to understand, besides I have doubts and everything. I love you a lot, kiss, will you forgive me?

Okay, I love you no matter what I say. The feeling still burns. Kiss, I love you.

Yes babe, forgive me for being this way. I don’t know what happens to me sometimes. I don’t just love you, I’m crazy for you my girl. Kiss.

I love you too and a lot my girl, by the way, that’s why I told you the song “contraAtake” means a lot to me 🙁

This is what you are to me, my treasure, my girl, my sweetness. You are everything to me. Kiss. I love you.

Rest well my girl. You know that I love you. I want you to take care and tomorrow it’s “Virgencita Day.” Yes I’ll pray to her for my protection and yours, haha I love you.

Don’t worry girl. Somehow I am already used to it. And I will be back. You will see.

This time I will say everything and yes “KM” I will not forget about you.

I love you girl, more than you could think or imagine. I love you my darling, no matter if we do not do anything, I am fine by your side. My life. I am almost out of battery. I love you.
This account of love is right out in the open for everyone to see but I’m sure no one notices it amongst the others.
I can’t help wonder what will happen to the two of them? Who they are? Will they survive?
Why did they stop writing?
Sounds beautiful and sad at the same time. I wonder who they are too. Do they have a secret relationship? Do locals know who the love birds writing are?
I find it sad because it seems to have ended. I don’t think anyone knows who they are.
Aww I love things like this – although I’m glad you posed it, as I only know about five words of Spanish and had I been there myself, would have totally bypassed it. I wonder what did happen to the couple? Whenever I see locks that couples put their names or initials on, it makes me wonder about them, too.
Well I was lucky as there is quite a bit of slang in it so I took the photos and asked someone from Mazatlan Tourism to translate it for me.
But very Romeo and Juliet-like, I don’t think they made it.
That’s beautiful 🙂 I hope they found each other and are happy together 😀
It’s so hard to say, I just wonder why the writing ended.
Great stuff…Young love:)
Definitely feels like the first love between two people, unsure of how to make it work.
It’s like Romeo + Juliet! I’m glad you split from the group to document this romance. 🙂
One of the most interesting pieces I saw there, I just need to know what happened!
Awwww, that’s so sweet. 🙂 I want them to make it.
Me too but I think their time may have passed.
Aww! It’s like old fashioned love letters but on a wall. Maybe they stopped writing because they’re together now?
So glad you translated it. I would’ve walked by as my Spanish is from Sesame Street.
It was really tough to translate, I could get a lot of it but needed help as there was a lot of slang, which makes me think they were quite young.
Well, you know I love street art and this is just adorable! I wonder what happened to them as well …
I’d love for one of them to just write the ending so we could know.
I love that you noticed this– the little details we find are the best.
so beautiful story but a bit sad… i hope they “live happily ever after” 🙂
I know but I fear they did not make it.
I wonder what happened to them. I miss old love letters and writing on the wall. Way back in high school, the campus have this big graffiti wall where students can just write whatever they want. I remember a similar story 🙂
Don;t you just miss these sweet moments of love? Now, they just do it on Facebook walls 😐
There is something beautiful about the permenance of writing on a wall, Facebook just isn’t the same.
I love street art. I’ve never seen an actual dialogue within it, though. That’s a lot deeper than some silly logo painted on a wall.
I know but I feel somewhat disappointed that I don’t know what happened to the lovers.
This is so beautiful and cool! Thanks for posting it!
One of the more interesting bits of graffiti I’ve seen in a while.
Awwww, that’s so sweet! It made me smile on a Monday morning:)
I love this. It’s so sweet and heartbreaking. It’s the little things like these that people don’t usually notice that really bring out the culture of a place.
