Tampere, Finland
Despite dining in many cities around the world, I have never eaten in a revolving restaurant, not even in my own city of Toronto – actually I have not even been up the CN Tower but that is a discussion for another day.
Just like in Porvoo, I am leaving the city feeling like I did not spend enough time.
There were so many other things to do in Tampere I wanted to see and do and I just can’t do them all in three days. But my last meal in Tampere was pretty spectacular.
The largest structure in Finland, Nasinneula observation tower was inspired by the Space Needle in Seattle.
There is an amusement park down below, obviously closed for winter, but the real draw is the restaurant, which is also called Nasinneula.
But even more amazing was the view, and it was beautiful in the winter. Michael did a quick time lapse video and while he decided not to use it I begged him to have the unedited video so I could share it.
Now tell me that’s not a spectacular view.
What a view!!!!
You can’t beat it!
I love your Food Friday posts – this one in particular looks incredible!
Thanks! Food really is the best part of travel.
The only thing I’ve seen in Tampere is the H&M, and that was about 10 years ago when I studied in Jyvaskyla! I clearly missed out! 😀
Oh lady you definitely missed out!
It’s not a spectacular view… it’s stupendous! *grin*
Love revolving restaurants, so much fun but top that off with a meal like yours and WOW!
Even the plate presentation is beautiful.
The meal was great and the sommelier on site recently won awards, all around (no pun intended) a great meal.
Oh my gosh! That is so cool!!! It is such a beautiful view!
Finland is really beautiful during the winter.
Gorgeous! What are those drinks with the orange berries in them that you’re toasting with? They look yummy.
What’s Michael’s problem? The time lapse is amazing!
It was a cocktail with sea buckthorn berries that have more vitamin c in one berry than an orange. They were fantastic.
Michael is a perfectionist but I love the video, there is no better way to show what a great view this is.
That view looks much more stunning than the one from the CN Tower! My grandmother was Finnish so would love to visit Finland one day. It looks amazing.
I’ve never been up the CN Tower, I’m not usually a fan of going up things for the view but this was one of the few times it was worth it.
What an amazing view! I’ve always thought I’d get really dizzy and disorientated at one of those, but I guess it doesn’t go at a noticeable speed…?
Holy wow. <3 Gorgeous view!
Today fully tested. Amazing food, service, drinks and views.
Totally magnificent experience 🙂
Ahh, that’s a good life with good food and a fantastic view!
It doesn’t really get much better.
