I’m not a mushy kind of girl. I haven’t really celebrated Valentine’s Day throughout the years and I’m far too frugal to want February 14th roses or chocolates – buy them a day later for 50%!
But this year I’m feeling a bit nostalgic. Not just about people I once loved, but also places and things. And so I wanted to share a few of the things that have been memorable over the years.
The Year I Walked Away From Love – The most popular post. Previously I hadn’t shared what it was like to leave a relationship and how I coped with it while traveling, but readers emailed wondering how I found the courage and this post shares the truth is that it was tough.
Runaway from Love – A guest post from Ant at Positive World Travel, I wanted to share the other side of leaving a relationship – finding the person you are meant to be with. Ant’s story helped me realize that I was doing the right thing and needed to continue the journey.
My First Love Affair in Peru – Sudado in Peru is incredible, I nearly forgot about it but it was delicious.
Looking for Love in All The Wrong Places and Failing at the Dating Game – When I decided to no longer be nomadic and simply use Toronto as a base for travel I thought it would be a good time to start dating again. In Toronto online dating is completely normal and many of my friends have found love that way so I thought I’d give it a try and had some mixed results.
Love Notes from a Graffiti Artist – in Mazatlan I stumble upon a series of notes written on a wall between two lovers, it is both beautiful and sad.
Los Pescadores – Creating this made me fall in love with video. It is the closest I can express what my life is like while traveling and sharing incredibe stories like this one.
How about you, even if you are a Valentine’s Day Scrooge like me, is there something that you remember fondly about love?
Ok, I have to ask this: is the guy on the third photo naked? 🙂
ROFL!!!! That’s the first ting I thought too! ….so is he?!?
It’s all about the bacon for me ladies!
Sometimes I feel lonely, but I have a solution for that: bacon! Love the bacon heart graphic at the start…!
