Jasper, Alberta
I didn’t stay long enough. Jasper is a tiny town but four days was not enough. I spent most of my time in town and sucking at snowboarding and while I had such a good time I barely scratched the surface.
The Winter Guide to Jasper I shared last week really touches on the breadth of activities so close to town in the heart of winter but I’m starting to think I’d like to see it in warmer temperatures.
I might even fancy a short hike or two in summer or autumn. We’ll see…there’s so much to explore in Canada and the more I discover fuels a desire to see my own country.
I quickly shot this video of Jasper just to give an idea on how it may be different than other towns in Western Canada – especially Banff, which has a bit more of a resort feel.
I hope you enjoy!

You should definitely go back in warmer weather – Jasper is my favourite in the spring and summer!
I’d love to go back in summer! I may even consider hiking!
I agree – I’d love to go back in the summer and hike…yet then I’d have to deal with my fear of bears…
I’ve never seen a bear either, thanks for putting that thought in my head 🙂
I love Jasper. Have visited both in summer and winter and I can tell you they are both great! I am hoping to try autumn and spring at some point. The mountains remind me of the Himalayas . . . but with good beer!
What did you do in the summer. I’d love to go back but I’m not a huge hiker. I like walking all day, just not up steep hills.
Seriously,I really want to experience winter. I’m really jealous every time I saw someone playing in the snow and making snow man! By the way, thanks for sharing your video of Jasper, it was so cool.
Well come on over, we’d love to share our snow storms with others 🙂
I hear that! I suck at snowboarding too, but way to go for giving it a shot!
Also, your video gives Jasper a real hometown feel. It’s teeming with friendly people and hospitality!
Very small town feel, it’s really lovely.
I’ve heard so much about Jasper and how amazing it is. Awesome video, I’m not a fan of winter but it looks beautiful and I’ll have to check it out next time I’m in Canada!
As a Canadian I’m not a fan of winter either, but if you’re going to be here you need a view of the Rockies.
Nice video! I want to gorge on the pizza!
It was a good one!
Loved your video on Jasper. I really would like to visit it, to see if I can do snowboarding as well.
Thanks! Jasper really is a fun place.
Oh what a lovely view of the snowy mountains! I can’t wait to go there in spring or summer perhaps.
I’d really like to go back in Summer.
Beautiful! I want to try snowboarding!!!
Well good luck to you! I don’t think I’ll be back.
you say true that Jasper is a tiny town and i already visit that place and i love that place very much and its true that its really very hard to visit that place in 4 days
Four days is such a short time for a place with so many things to do.
Very small town feel, it’s really lovely..
Jasper is one of my favourite places in Canada. I had a ball skiing there last season. Hope to go again next year.
