Day 172: Cali, Colombia
Not surprisingly, the winner of the world salsa championship were from Cali.
Unlike the qualifying rounds that played music from speakers, each group was accompanied by a full band playing their piece.
If you want to know what it takes to win the World Championships watch Stilo y Sabor Latino:
The couple that won, Cristian Montenegro and Eliana Feijoo, are from Swing Latino school in Cali, which is considered the best salsa school in the world.
The dancers at this school not only perform in Colombia, but also London and throughout the world.
I’m a little bit sad that the festival is ending but I know it the salsa dancing is far from over.
Oh my god. Look at the photo! Haha 🙂
I’m taking jazz funky and jazz ballet but I gotta try some kind of passionate salsa dance too! 🙂
Looks like a lot of fun. Now I know where I have to take Salsa lessons…Cali. Only the best for me:-)
Swing Latino performed last monday at Las Brisas…. We all couldnt believe our eyes
Ahhhhh, how freaking hot and sexy and amazing! I want to be able to dance like that 🙁
For F’s sake… I’ve been waiting for this and the crap internet here in New Zealand won’t let the videos load!
Wow, I’m actually stunned almost speechless, that was amazing dancing!!
I so want to go to Cali now. Looks fun!
Aww, that is so sexy! I’m actually looking for salsa classes here in Shanghai, there are some places that do “social” but I’m way too inexperienced for that!
Awesome recap of this! I have a little bit of rhythm for a white boy but not like this! 🙂
I love Salsa music but unfortunately, can’t dance at all. Videos were outstanding.
…and, now the World Salsa Championship is something I very much want to attend. My goodness I love salsa dancing!!
Before I die, I want to get good at dancing. FYI, a couple of the photos never pulled in.
Thanks for posting the detailed info on this amazing dance team. I have been trying to find more info on their background and how to find them online.
