I’m going back to Cali, Cali, Cali
I’m going back to Cali.. hmm, I don’t think so

Okay so maybe LL Cool J’s song doesn’t really work as I’m not sure if he’s going back or not. But I am definitely heading back as the World Salsa Festival begins tomorrow.
It’s hard to explain how ingrained salsa is into the culture. The world champions are almost always from this city and there are over a hundred schools.
Traditional Colombian Food
When you hear music – it’s salsa music. In fact if you want to listen to rock you need to go to a specific rock bar.
Worldwide Cali is known for its emphasis on footwork and it’s impressive. To get a taste have a look at the video below of a couple at a local bar.
That video is awesome!
Where is the video of you dancing?
Great photo from San Antonio!!! Love it π
@Ryan
Yeah after seeing that video I decided to wait a few weeks before one of me.
Makes one realize how much they suck at dancing… hahahaha… π
Awesome video! Will be patently waiting for a video of you doing the same dance AYNGELINA!!!!!
And here I was all excited, thinking there was a festival for salsa, the tortilla chip dipping sauce!
@Joel
I would have been just excited for the tortilla dipping sauce festival although I don’t think a video would have been as interesting.
OMG, they are on FIRE! really cool video!
Did you dance there? π
@Norbert
I didn’t dance here but you can find people this good everywhere, it’s both intimidating and inspiring.
Every time I see you’re in Cali, I think, “sweet! She’s in my state! Hopefully, we can get together for a drink!” And then I realize, oops, wrong continent entirely =)
Nice post Ayngelina!
I was waiting for a video of you dancing too! Haha π
Ahhhh, I’m so jealous! What an AWESOME event to be there for.
I can dance like that. I’m just not in the mood…
My dodgy knee popped out at 1:39 just WATCHING this. Like you say, both intimidating and inspiring…
I skipped Cali when I was in Colombia. Looks like a good time though! I heard lots of great things about it.
siiiiigh….i only dream of being able to move like that! great video. My typical experience consists of being asked to dance, vehemently protesting, and 45 seconds of dancing later, the guys politely shrugs me off to find someone who can actually move in time with the music.
@Claire
Oh I totally understand what you mean. Most guys only ask me to dance once. Some feel bad for the poor gringa with bad rhythm and will ask twice but it’s a rare occasion.
